SUMMARY:

Under the direction of a Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Partner is primarily responsible for Recruitment and Retention and Employee Relations of assigned clients.  As an internal consultant, the Human Resources Partner will assist with HR Specific projects, employee training HR Policy interpretation and application, and Performance Management.  The Human Resources Partner is also responsible for contractor files, and key operational functions.

Major Accountabilities/Critical Responsibilities:
  • Consistently demonstrates effectiveness as a professional Human Resources generalist, in all of the following disciplines:
    • Recruitment and Employment Strategies
    • Employee Relations
    • Performance Management
    • HRIS
    • HR Service Delivery and Operations
  • Works with clients to develop an effective and efficient recruiting strategy.  Develop expertise in candidate sourcing strategy (be familiar with and develop new sourcing options), interviewing and selecting top candidates and coaching clients to make sound selection and hiring decisions. Consults with a HR Manager prior to extending a job offer to review and ascertain appropriate compensation.  When necessary, uses creative and cost effective methods to recruit and advertise.  Posts all positions on the Stamford Hospital Website and on Monster.com as appropriate. Utilized Silkroad Open Hire to guide a candidate through the recruitment process.  Follows all established procedures for obtaining references and background checks appropriate to the position being filled. Ensures proper documentation of recruitment process adhering to legal, regulatory and organizational regulations.
  • Effectively provides direction and policy interpretation to department managers in managing their respective Human Resources responsibilities.  Consults with HR Manager and select clients to offer advice in handling human resources policy interpretation issues, employee relations and labor relations issues.  
  • Coordinates the Orientation and Termination of Incoming and Outgoing Medical Residents in collaboration with Program Chairs and their Executive Assistants.
  • Collaborates with HR Onboarding to ensure a smooth transition of newly hired employees into the new hire process utilizing Silkroad Red Carpet.
  • Represents Human Resources during New Employee Orientation as needed.
  • Consults with client base, processes and participates in the annual Performance Management Process.
  • The HR Partner will be an active member of at least two Hospital committees
  • Work cross-departmentally to craft unique sponsorship packages that attract sponsors and donors, including mainstage programming, community engagement activities, arts education and real estate development
Other Related Duties:
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested in order to maintain a high level of service.
  • Completes required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements.
  • Demonstrates professional work behavior by following Service Standards and Performance Factors.  Complies with departmental organizational policies and procedures and adheres to external agency requirements.
  • Participates as assigned in various committees and meetings representing the Human Resources Department.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Business, Human Resources, Organization Development or Healthcare Administration is required.
  • At least three years of demonstrated experience working in a Human Resources generalist capacity is required.  Prior Healthcare experience is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Human Resource regulations including: EEO/AA, ADA, FLSA and ability to explain impact on interviewing and selection process.
  • High level of competency with computer software, hardware, and Internet is required.  Knowledge of MS Office or equivalent is required.  Knowledge of HR databases is required.
  • Superior verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Prior experience facilitating presentations and speaking to large audiences is preferred.
  • The ability to work with individuals at all organizational levels, particularly peers, team members, other departments, patients, and the community is required.

 

Compensation: 75 – 85k annual base salary (DOE)
